I was lucky enough to see Gilbert win one of his first professional road races in Belgium in 2005.
Since then we've seen him win at the Giro del Piemonte and Giro di Lombardia twice in 2009 and 2010.
Every time he goes for the win you can guarantee it is a tough finish, check this great sprint for the line in Tirreno - Adriatico 2011 stage 5
